Communicative practice | Before the Flood (words and review)
Hello all my readers!!!
On this page you will see my work on a very important movie called Before the Flood. I will leave the link to the movie. You can watch it on YouTube. [https://youtu.be/zbEnOYtsXHA?feature=shared] Enjoy!
My three main tasks were:
1. Watch the film
2. Write out 30 unknown words
3. Write a review, in which I would indicate what I liked and what I did not like.
2. You can see words here:
3. Review

Before the Flood Movie
Have you ever
thought that the things you do every day might be harmful to the environment?
Have you ever watched something in your life that made you think about who
people really are and who you truly are? Because I have, and I will explain
why.
I watched a movie
called Before the Flood with Leonardo DiCaprio. It talks about climate change,
global warming, and other environmental issues. It made me think a lot.
Leonardo and his team traveled to every corner of the globe to show us the dire
consequences of climate change. He has done an incredible job as a narrator,
and many of the shots in the film are deeply moving. In fact, I watched the
film twice to fully grasp its message, and to be honest, I felt embarrassed
after watching it. When Leonardo arrived in Antarctica and the screen showed
the ice melting, making it difficult for polar bears and penguins to survive, I
felt very sorry for them. The man Leo was talking to looked out at the sea and
said, “You know, I don't want to live in a future without these creatures.” And
I truly felt his words.
In general, there
was a lot of interesting and useful information that I did not know before.
There are many speeches by politicians and various criticisms. Some say that
global warming is a myth, while others try to prove to humanity that its
activities are destroying our planet. After watching the movie, I realized that
we might not be able to fix this problem. And so, returning to my first
questions, I would like to quote Leonardo’s words after he met different
people, visited various places, and saw with his own eyes the consequences of
such a careless attitude toward the environment: “My footprint is probably a
lot bigger than most people's, and there are times when I question what the
right thing to do is. What actions should we be taking? There are over a
billion people out there without electricity; they want lights, they want heat,
they want the lifestyle that we've had in the United States for the last
hundred years. If we're going to solve this problem, we all have a
responsibility to set an example and do even more than that.” These words, in
my opinion, are the most powerful.
In conclusion, I
want to say that I think the main message of the film is not just about
revealing the issue of climate change. It's also a film that shows who people
really are and the damage they cause simply by existing. I would recommend it
to absolutely everyone who cares about our planet and nature and who appreciates
the landscapes of different parts of the world.
